Sheila is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with 10 years experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Enriching, nurturing, and empowering individuals with ASD has been an ongoing passion of hers. Sheila has a Masters of Education with a focus on Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and uses a holistic approach to ABA tailored to each learner. She is adept at analyzing behaviour and putting effective interventions into place that bring about appropriate and functional change, so children can lead independent lives and achieve their full potential. Equally important is to arm parents of children with ASD with information and knowledge to help guide their child’s learning and self-advocacy.

M.A., BCBA
Abbie is a BCBA with 7+ years of experiences working with 3-15 years old
neurodivergent children, mostly with ASD and ADHD. She has worked at
multiple settings and in different roles: schools as co-teacher and shadow
teacher, centres as therapist, and private practice as consultant throughout
the years. She has had extensive experiences in working with non-verbal children
and young teens using PECS and AAC devices.
She believes children should have the autonomy in making choices, interacting
with people, and participating in activities, and thus I create holistic learning
environments for children to learn at their own pace. She aspires to bridge the
gap for children between a self-contained environment and a society
setting. She had the privilege to be in wonderful journeys with families these
years. She has said: “ Seeing their children learn and grow to be more independent is the
most fulfilling thing about this job! “
She graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2015 and started her journey
as a ABA Therapist since then. She earned my Masters degree in Educational
Counselling at The Education University of Hong Kong the next year.
