Online Counselling at Social Kiddos
Counselling offers a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space to explore who you are, learn new skills, and work through what feels difficult. Social Kiddos offers online counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor for neurodivergent youth, neurodivergent adults and parents, and parents of neurodivergent kids.
Who we support
Neurodivergent Youth (Ages 12+)
Every youth deserves a space where they feel seen, understood, accepted, and supported in being exactly who they are. Moving through a world that isn't built for your brain is not easy, so teens with Autism and/or ADHD can benefit from the extra encouragement, care and empathy counselling provides.
- Finding effective ways to manage anxiety and sensory overload
- Building communication skills to better express what they need
- Navigating complex social dynamics, relationships and social anxiety
- Developing more self-awareness about their emotions and mental health
- Building self-esteem and self-acceptance
- Finding their strengths and gifts
- Processing difficult life experiences and emotions
Neurodivergent Adults & Parents
Every adult deserves a space where they feel seen, understood, and accepted exactly as they are. Whether you're newly exploring your neurodivergence or have known for years, and whether or not you're parenting as a neurodivergent adult, counselling can help you understand yourself better and work toward the goals that matter to you. Sessions are collaborative and go at your pace.
- Managing stress, low mood, and burnout, and identifying the patterns behind it
- Understanding your neurotype, exploring masking, and building self-acceptance
- Navigating relationships, communication, needs and boundaries
- Parenting in ways that work with your neurodivergence: sensory overwhelm, emotional exhaustion, executive functioning and self-care
- Support with work, study, and everyday life changes
- Building self-advocacy at work, school, and in healthcare
- Finding your strengths and gifts
Parents of Neurodivergent Kids
The challenges of raising a neurodivergent child are often the extra demands of caregiving, navigating systems, and living in a world that isn't designed for neurodivergent needs. That doesn't mean you're failing. Counselling gives you space to focus on your own well-being so you can keep showing up for the people you care about most.
- Recognizing the impacts of chronic stress and burnout, and finding healthier ways to cope
- Reconnecting with yourself after putting everyone else first
- Processing your emotional experiences without fear and judgement
- Building self-regulation skills to respond to difficult moments with more confidence and patience
- Navigating relationship challenges and differences in parenting approaches
- Overcoming self-doubt and the fear of making mistakes
- Building greater self-compassion and self-acceptance
