Training & Workshops

Helping the adults in every child's life feel confident, prepared and neurodiversity-affirming.

When educators, caregivers and support workers understand how neurodivergent children experience the world, everyone thrives. Our Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs) and clinical team offer practical, engaging training for schools, Pro-D days, daycares and early learning centres, neighbourhood houses and community organizations, as well as education sessions for parents and caregivers.

Every session is grounded in evidence-based practice, filled with real-life examples, and tailored to the people in the room.

Featured session

Neurodiversity: Supporting Children to Reach Their Potential

Our most requested session, delivered to front-line workers, facilitators and families through Vancouver neighbourhood houses and community programs. It's a warm, interactive introduction to neurodiversity and neurodiversity-affirming care, with strategies attendees can use the very next day.

What attendees learn
  • The neurodiversity "umbrella": what neurodiversity, neurodivergent and neurodiverse mean, and why the language we use matters
  • Recognizing signs: how autism, ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, dyscalculia and other differences can show up in young children, and why early support makes a difference
  • A strengths-based lens: seeing and building on each child's strengths, from memory and creativity to logic, friendliness and attention to detail
  • Behaviour as communication: remembering the iceberg, and understanding setting events, triggers and what a child may be telling us
  • Regulation comes first: a hierarchy-of-needs lens, co-regulation, and the difference between a motivating break and a truly regulating strategy
  • Environments that work: reducing sensory overload, quiet corners, visual schedules, first-then boards and transition warnings
  • Partnering with families: strengths-based communication that builds trust between home and program
Attendees leave with
  • A copy of the presentation slides
  • Practical worksheets, including our Child Action Planning Sheet for observing strengths, sensory needs and behaviour, and planning the day
  • A list of trusted resources
  • A certificate of attendance, on request
